“I object to you.
I object to intellect without discipline.
I object to power without constructive purpose.”
Spock, from the Original Series episode “The Squire of Gothos”
There are wonderful nuggets of wisdom contained in what was a low-budget television show that’s now 50 years old. This is why it has stood the test of time and been reincarnated in so many versions. Like many classic things, there are layers to uncover. It looks and sounds one way to you when you’re a child, you see more in your teens and 20’s, more still as you get older.
I share Spock’s objections.
And, unfortunately, the objections are no longer limited to characters in the science-fictional world.
Well, this was a short one and to the point! Amen, brother, I agree!! Did I ever tell you I have never seen so much as one episode of Star Wars or Star Trek. You are convincing me I have an impoverished background!
